Trick or Treat (but, like, for wine): How to pair Wine with Candy
Posted on October 30, 2014
With Halloween around the corner, it’s no secret that there will be temptation everywhere (and we’re not just referring to your decision to go as Foxxy Fullback again this year). But have you ever thought, “Gee, I wonder what wine would be awesome to drink as I dig into this giant 3 1/2-pound bag of cherry Pull-n-Peel Twizzlers,” well…you’re in luck. The Grape Girls have found the answers to all your candy and wine pairing needs.
The good people at thekitchn.com have put together a fail-proof chart that will satisfy all your pairing needs. Simply find your favorite candy listed on the left, then follow the line that leads to which wine will compliment it best and TA-DAAA! You’ve got a party.
Here’s that chart for ya:
Just as we suspected, nothing pairs well with Sour Patch Kids. Except, maybe, vodka. Which you can learn how to do here. Grape Girls disclaimer: we (usually) stick with wine. But we’ll try anything once (or twice, if you’re Tee). While these soft, squishy and otherwise unassuming little gelatinous people seem harmless, BE WARNED – they will knock you on your you-know-what if not consumed with care. So, use your smarts, friends. We know you got ’em.
Let us know what you’re drinking this spooky day. Happy Halloween!
