Getting to “Lo” You: The Grape Girls on Wine, Journey, and Laura L. Thomas
Posted on June 22, 2016
In the beginning of GG time, there was wine…and it was good.
Then there were these two girls that started wondering what would happen if they brought a little fun to wine….and it was also good- really, REALLY good. Then came Lo and Tee…the rest is…well, YOU know.
It’s GG Tee here- breaking from the norm and rolling solo for a sec to share with you what happened late one grape night when we turned the cameras on each other. *scroll down for you impatient ones*
Now, for all of you out there whose ears pricked up with sordid daydreams, spoiler alert: PROBABLY not what you’re thinking. In interviewing each other, we got a chance to take off “The Grape Girls” mantle, one we wear proudly, and discover the people underneath. THAT is what we share with you now- two years later- as we, your lovable lushes, begin finding our feet in this crazy wine world.
The end result? Just like wine, we, The Grape Girls, are the same…but different. Individually special, uniquely wrapped, and together magically fierce in a unicorn sort of way.
I was honored to interview Lo, our favorite blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty with Southern charm and spitfire wit. Hailing from Franklin, a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee, think of her as cross between a feisty, Rosé-flavored American Girl doll and Rocky Balboa. Determined, focused, and fearless, Lo serves as the administrative brains of our whole operation- the backbone brick-layer that makes everything possible. Ever talked to just ONE of us on the phone, or emailed us? Yup. That’s Lo. Instagram? Snapchat? Yup. All her too.
The floral to my mineral, Lo runs our organization with a wine-fueled passion that would leave most breathless. Moreover, when she’s finished with her Grape Girl hat, she dons her other favorite, that of accomplished actor. Managing a career that includes stage, screen, and television, sometimes I think that the name “Laura” must really be code for “Superwoman”. She hustles tirelessly, full beat (that means make-up), ALL spirit, theme song (“Don’t Stop Believing”) blazing- inspiring everyone that comes across her path.
This is probably also the moment you’re wondering,
“Tee, do you do ANYTHING?”
The answer is, yes… but only when Lo tells me to.
THIS one is for my girl, Lo- I Tip It and Sip It to you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
